Back in April 2017 Lakenheath saw the arrival of USAF F-35A’s from Hill AFB on deployment. The F35 nicknamed DAVE – Delayed and Very Expensive – is actually quite an impressive jet, having seen the V/STOL F-35B at RIAT the year before it was nice to see the “ordinary version” in the flesh.
I managed to grab a few shots during their short stay in the UK.
Not only did the base host the F35’s, a batch of Louisiana Air National Guard F15A’s from New Orleans were also visiting.
Good to see the Lightning’s, a sign of things to come at the Heath! But give me an F15E any day!
