As the end of March draws very near, we bid farewell (in the UK) to the venerable Tornado. The last GR4’s are due to retire sometime in March 2019 from active service and many, including myself, are planning their pilgramige to RAF Marham for once last glimpse of this iconic aircraft before it departs from over 40 years of service.

Here are a few photos of RAF F3’s, GR1’s and GR4’s as well as Italian and German Tornado’s taken over the years at bases and at airshows of this wonderful aircraft.

“Pinky” (not the original one) at Marham

UPDATED – I managed to get to Marham on the 22nd March to see some action, it was misty and the pics aren’t great but what a treat to see a Five ship takeoff. Another type gone from the UK, sad times.
