It has to be said that last years RIAT was highly enjoyable. From the power of the French Airforce Ramex Delta team to the magnificent Balbo of Spitfires, Hurricanes and Blenheim to remember the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain the airshow had plenty for all enthusiasts.

The best display though was on the Saturday, in her last years of flying Vulcan XH558 wowed the crowds with a display akin to those we enjoyed back in the 80’s when the old lady was in the hands of the RAF. From that howl, that take off to the eventual flypast with the RAF’s Red Arrows it was a truly magnificent sight. One many, myself included, from the Friends of the Royal International Air Tattoo voted as our best display of the show.

Cards on the table, I’m not a fan of Vulcan to the Sky and the way they have operated XH558, it is sad that she ends her days on her own at Finningley when she could have been amongst other magnificent aircraft at Bruntingthorpe or Elvington.

Hope you enjoy the photos.
