There aren’t many opportunities to get close to a Harrier in the UK these days outside of a museum. Thankfully Rich Cooper and the Team and COAP arranged such an opportunity at the former RAF Church Fenton, now Leeds East Airport.
Jet Art Aviation have a reputation for restoring aircraft back to their former glory and ZH798 is no exception to that rule. Available for sale for a price reported to be in excess of £1m, the FA2 is ground run-able though not airworthy.
Sadly she wasn’t spooled up on the day of our visit but unrestricted access on the pan and runway were a worthy substitute.
Thankfully the weather gods played ball and we weren’t doused in rain. Another great opportunity to get up close to a living breathing legend.
