On the 10th December we were priviliged to witness one of the last runs of Avro Shackleton WR963 at it’s Coventry base.
Conditions were cold and the team had their work cut out to get all engines running, unfortunatly the far engines on the prt side weren’t playing ball and wouldnt fire up.
WR963 is due to move to Elvington, York as the future of the airport at Coventry is undecided. Elvington will be a proper home for this aging lady alongside other preserved relics of a bygone era.
Looking forward to seing her in full running order at her new home!
